Autoresponders are a must if you do business online.

When someone subscribes to or joins your email list, an automatic mailing system known as an autoresponder is used to capture their name and contact information.

Before you can use an autoresponder, you’ll need a mailing list of names and email addresses. However, initially you won’t have a mailing list for your autoresponder and you’ll have to build one.

Your autoresponder is fairly easy to set up and there are tutorials and/or knowledge base information available with most of them.

Once you set up your autoresponder you will get the information that you will need to use on a contact form. Then all you have to do is add that information to your website.

This enables you to have people subscribe to or join you website while they are already there.

To be safe it is best to use the double opt-in method when you use an autoresponder to capture the names and email addresses of subscribers.

Double opt-in means that anyone who subscribes to or joins your email list will have to confirm their choice to do so before you can send email to them.

If you are just getting started with internet marketing or if you don’t have a substantial size list there is an easy and fast way for you to build your list.

The best way is to give something away for free.

When you give something away for free both you and the subscriber win. The subscriber get the free item(s) and you get their contact information and permission to email or market to them in the future.

There are many items that you can give away for free such as free eBooks, free reports, free access to private websites, additional entries into a sweepstakes, free software, valuable discounts, free ezines, free newsletters, valuable and useful information, a video, added discounts or premium service, etc.

The objective is to get your website visitors to subscribe to or join your list as well as agree to receive email from you in the future in order to get the free item(s).

Autoresponders are also great because they can deliver automated messages for you. This feature is very valuable and makes the task of following up with your subscribers much easier.

You should never miss an opportunity to earn money in the internet marketing world.

Place email, follow-up and even broadcast messages in automatic mode with the use of an autoresponder and whenever an autoresponder message is sent out you’ll have the opportunity to earn money from your list now and in the future!
