Build A Profitable Business By Building Your List
Build A Profitable Business By Building Your List
People have always sold things to other people even before the internet was ever thought about. The only difference was the selling was being done by sales people door to door or in brick and mortar buildings.
Products were being sold by sales people who went from house to house and or city to city to sell their goods.
Those sales people knew that in order for them to sell their product and be profitable, they needed to concentrate on those who would most likely become their customers and not waste time with those who were not interested and who would never buy their product.
Internet marketing is very similar to being a door-to-door sales person, except you can reach more customers, much faster.
Internet marketers today can learn a lot from sales people of the past by concentrating on building a profitable opt-in list instead of just collecting a list of names and email addresses.
Many people (especially new internet marketers) sometimes get confused or don’t really understand why they should build an opt-in list.
Building an opt-in list is not the main objective. The main objective is to build an opt-in list to help build your business.
In order to be successful in the internet business an opt-in list is very essential. You can build your opt-in list from traffic to your website but to build a profitable opt-list you will need targeted traffic.
Targeted traffic (niche) is built by building a good solid customer base of faithful customers. You collect the names and email addresses one at a time of those customers who visit your website, have an interest in your product and who are your best prospects.
When building an opt-in list, keep in mind that quality is much more important to you than quantity. A small list of names of customers making purchases from you is much more valuable than a larger list with no one purchasing anything.
Remember these basic rules when building your opt-in list:
1. Find out what the members on your current list want by asking them what type of information they want and then provide it for them. They will enjoy the fact that you value their opinion.
2. Constantly stay in touch with your customers on your opt-in list but whatever you do, DON’T OVER-DO IT! Being enthusiastic about your product(s) is great. However, too much contact with your customers too often can be overwhelming and unsettling for some of them and could cause them to opt-out. So remain enthusiastic but make sure you also constantly keep your enthusiasm in check.
3. Get to know the people on your list. This will help you put things into perspective. You will then be able to tailor your list(s) to individuals with the same interests who in turn will help you build your list and your business as well.
Your opt-in list is a very valuable asset and should be one that will produce sales and repeat sales.
Don’t forget and don’t be afraid to ask the members on your list to recommend you to their friends, family, co-workers and others who are interested in your niche.
