It’s a great idea to start a blog or website whether you are promoting affiliate products or selling your own. It will give you a presence on the internet and a place to promote and/or sell products from.

Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is an online log in reverse chronological order that you write or (post) to whenever you have something that you want to write about or share with others online.

3. Web Host — a webhost is the place where all of your blog information is stored. Whenever you write (post) to, edit, or delete something from your blog, your computer communicates with the web host in order to get it done.

You will also have to learn a few minor technical details as well.

Once you have familiarized yourself with and mastered the basics of blogging, you can enter into numerous conversations about blogging and a variety of other topics all over the internet.

When you start blogging your will find it to be quite different than a regular web page. When you blog and write in a more conversational style, your blog will seem more accessible and friendly.

It is very important to pick your niche very carefully if you plan to generate any type of income from your blog. Make sure you choose a topic that you are familiar with, passionate about and one that is not too wide.

There will be competition and it will be very hard for you to compete with bigger blogs and websites if you make your niche too wide.

By using great keywords in you blog you will draw a lot of traffic from search engines to your blog site. Traffic from search engines is the best traffic to have because it is totally free.

A business blog needs to be more informational but informal. People want to read information that can be beneficial and helpful to them and they will keep coming back if you provide them with something that they want to read.

Most people are more likely to purchase something from someone they know and trust than from a stranger. Blogging gives your customers and website visitors a chance to get to know you and your writing style.

Remember, when you use your blog to promote products, you will have repeat customers time and time again as long as you are selling or promoting good quality products.
